How to automate data entry from a google sheet

Enter data into a web form straight from a Google Sheet, with no API and no code. The bot reads a row, types each value into the form, clicks submit, and deletes the row it has finished with. Then it does the same for the next row.

There are two ways to build it: get started fast by describing what you want, or build it step by step yourself.

You don't have to assemble this bot yourself. Write what you want as a few plain instructions, one per line, and send them to the extension: axiom.ai suggests a matching set of steps, ready for you to point at your own sheet and your own form.

Send these to the extension, read what arrives, then click Suggest steps. Configure the sheet and the form as described below.

These are a starting point. Once they land in the extension you can edit any line, or add one of your own, before you build. Each line becomes one step.

Set up your Google Sheet

Create a new Google Sheet. In Chrome you can do this by typing sheet.new in the address bar, if you're already signed in to your Google account. Name it something like Data entry bot and create a tab called Data.

Put one row per form submission, and one column per form field.

Build it step by step

Whether axiom.ai suggested the steps or you added them yourself, each one needs to know which sheet to read and which fields to fill. Open each step in the builder and set it up as below. You can add more steps inside the loop whenever your form needs them.

1.0 Read data from a Google Sheet
- Spreadsheet: Search for the Google Sheet you created. Once found, click to select.
- Sheet name: Choose the sheet tab with the data to be input.

  - Select: An input field to enter data into.
  - Text: Click Insert Data, select [google-sheet-data].
- 2.2 Enter text
  - Select: An input field to enter data into.
  - Text: Click Insert Data, select [google-sheet-data].

  - Select: The submit form button.
- 2.4 Delete rows from a Google Sheet
  - Spreadsheet: Search for the Google Sheet you created. Once found, click to select.
  - Sheet name: Choose the tab you created for links.
  - First row: Set to 1.
  - Last row: Set to 1.

Run your data entry bot

Run a test first. Watch the bot fill the form, then stop it after a few loops and check the rows that were submitted before you let it work through the whole sheet.
